Gene Allen

Hi. I'm Gene Allen. This is my website.

A professional pilot for all my life. In the early days of my career I flew a little bit of everything, like the Beechcraft D-18 you see in the above photo. It is a lot like an Electra but a little smaller. The last half of my career I flew Gulfstream corporate jets to over 85 different countries, most of them more than once. And there was a while in the 1980s that I had a software company for flight planning and weather graphics.

So I come to the Earhart community from a curiosity about the navigation challenges and developing an accurate timeline of the events leading up to "We must be on you, but cannot see you." And as many of you know, things just kind of get out of control and one thing leads to another. And now I run an Earhart website.

Amelia Earhart accidentally created the perfect mystery—with so excruciatingly few clues, each one a morsel of essential knowledge. And here we are, nearly ninety years later, after millions of man-hours by thousands of people, tens of millions of dollars spent, and we're still addicted to solving a mystery too perfect to have been created except by accident.

So here is my two cents. Hope this website moves the needle of the Earhart saga a little forward.
